Most of us would love to think that our careers will always be secure and our work futures are protected, but the growing likelihood for the majority of jobs around the United Kingdom at the moment appears to be that security may be a thing of the past. Security can now only exist through a quickly rising marketplace, driven by work-skills shortages. It's this alone that creates the correct setting for a secure market - a more attractive situation all round.

Reviewing the Information Technology (IT) industry, the most recent e-Skills study highlighted a more than 26 percent shortage in trained professionals. Put simply, we're only able to fill 3 out of each four job positions in the computing industry. Achieving proper commercial Information Technology certification is correspondingly a quick route to succeed in a life-long and satisfying line of work. This helps to ensure it features what is required for the career path that has been chosen.

The issue of how to reproduce a 'Cisco' environment to practise for exams can often be overlooked. If you're working on your MS MCSE or MCSA for example, some old PC's are able to be 'networked' with each other to allow inexpensive 'dummy-runs' in your own home with real equipment. To re-create a 'Cisco' environment though would be incredibly costly, because you'd need to set up a large number of PC's, with Commercial technologies & enterprise class routers & data-switches. The only real practical solution is to use 'simulated' networks which have been authorised by 'Cisco'. Enabling you to practice 'on-screen', these software systems give you the ability to build & test virtual-networks. You practice with specific routers & data switches, & may even 'interrogate' data as it travels through your network system. A software package of this nature is what sets training-programs apart - it's unwise to think about any Cisco training which doesn't encompass it. A expert and professional consultant (vs a salesman) will want to thoroughly discuss your current experience level and abilities. Quite often, the training start-point for a trainee with experience is massively dissimilar to the student with no experience.
